The hospitalization area of the second floor has 11 rooms dedicated to pediatric care and OB/GYN. All are equipped with the necessary elements for excellent medical care in a comfortable and private environment. The third floor of the hospital has 28 rooms (17 standard and 11 VIP suites) specially designed to make your stay in our hospital more comfortable. All of our rooms are private with ensuite bathroom. Each is furnished with a sofabed for the comfort of family members who wish to stay with their patient, cable television and black out curtains. Free WiFi is available throughout the hospital. Our V.I.P. suites have the added bonus of in-room safe and access for the patient and family to a private VIP lounge where they can enjoy cablevision, comfortable seating and free bottled water and coffee.

Supervised by a Neonatologist, Hospital Sharp Mazatlan has the best equipped Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in the south of the state of Sinaloa. This area was specially designed to provide health care for newborns in the hospital and also to those transferred to us by other healthcare institutions. Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit consists of the following:

  • Transition Area: Six cribs for newborns plus six transfer bassinets.
  • Intermediate Care Area: Two fully-equipped neonatal incubators with cephalic helmets, chassis rx and infusion pumps.
  • Intensive Care Area: Heated cribs, neonatal ventilators, neonatal monitors.
  • Isolation Area: Separate cubicles, neonatal monitors, heated cribs.

Adult and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Coronary Care Unit (CCU). Our facility is staffed by a team of Doctors and Nurses specializing in Intensive Care and Internal Medicine. We have 11 beds as well as an isolation room. All beds are equipped with everything necessary to provide critical care to patients.

Risk factors such as high blood pressure, diabetes, high fat diet (high cholesterol and triglycerides) obesity and smoking as well as a sedentary lifestyle, increase the chances of suffering a heart attack (miocardiac infart) Once a heart attack occurs because a coronary artery is occluded, it is important to recover blood flow through this artery as soon as possible so as to minimize the damage to the heart muscle and decrease the chances of heart failure resulting in death. Previously, only drugs were available to achieve this and subsequently open heart surgery was pioneered, but today the vast majority of heart diseases are resolved through catheters that go through the arteries to the heart (cardiac catheterization). At Hospital Sharp Mazatlan we have a Cath Lab where complete studies of the arteries of the heart can be performed to detect partial or total occlusions and, if it is necessary, to repair them at that moment.
